Welcome and thank you for taking the time to follow an adventure that has been a lifetime in the making. What do you say when your 91 year old father says "I want to take a trip out west to visit the girls and Aura before I die"? Obviously, this is rhetorical question because here we are on our way out west. Just to provide you with a little history so that you will be able to connect on a more personal level. "The girls met my dad when he was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone during the 1940's (World War II). They were part of a family of seven members that included Mom and Pop. Mom and Pop and their five girls filled their home with servicemen that were a long way from home and were longing for a home cooked meal and a loving family that filled the loneliness that is common among those serving their country abroad. Our dear friend Aura became part of this adventure when her husband Fred befriended my dad during their navy days together. Fred was one of my dad's officers. In order to make this introduction brief, my dad along with these very dear friends have rarely visited over the last 60 or so years, but they have kept in touch via hand written letters. They have shared many milestones in each other's lives and love each other like family. Keep posted because the adventure is just beginning.
